Knitting Basics – Learn to Knit
Start Date: Wednesday Oct 19th
Time: Early Evening (time to be determined soon)
This class will introduce basic knitting techniques and projects. As a beginner, you will learn the mechanics of knitting, as well as the history. Learn to read a pattern, choose materials and tools, cast on and cast off, knit and purl stitches, and create garter and stockinette fabrics. You will receive direction on two simple scarves and the steps necessary to create your own independent projects.
What You Should Bring:
- One wound skein of light-color, worsted weight wool or super-wash wool(Cascade 220 recommended)
- One US 7 (4.5 mm) circular knitting needle with a 24” cord (ADDI TURBO recommended)
- Stitch markers
- Darning Needle
- Crochet hook size J.
